Must Have:

The E61 Flow Control Device allows you to adjust the flow of water in your brew group to manually profile your extractions. This custom component is a stainless steel needle valve, which allows the user to vary the amount of water flowing through the group. Variable flow control allows for lengthy pre-infusion for more even saturation and extraction of your espresso.

Similar to Profitec's existing mushroom, the flow control device is made from stainless steel to resist corrosion. The resulting changes in pressure are reflected by an included gauge which installs on the front of the group. The E61 Flow Control Device can be installed on any Profitec Espresso machine with an E61 brew group.

Still the best

ECM stands proudly above the profusion of shiny stuff that fills the regular shops, you know the gadgets that look great out of the box but are not made to last. Therefore I want to give a second 5-star rating as a long-term review of my ECM Espresso machine: Since July 2019 my ECM has produced flawless shots consistently, pumping through 3-4 kg each month. In other words, more than 3.5 years daily shots from a total of over 250 kg of freshly roasted coffee beans. And it has never missed a beat! With a very small investment of money and some easy regular cleaning, the ECM returns much better value for my money than anything I might find in my regular home appliance store. 4th year going strong, still the best, still 5 stars and still looking as good as it did the day I unboxed it. Thank You!

Great Machine

This is the best machine for the price. Easily adjustable pressure and PID gives greater control than a number of cheaper HX machines. I mostly make espresso with the occasional milk drink for guests so this is perfect for me. When I do use the steam wand it's quick but controllable. Throw on a flow control to experiment and you have a perfect espresso machine. Of course with most machines I recommend changing out the stock basket for a VST. Put a Flair temp strip on the group head.

Excellence in a small package

I purchased this machine as I was living alone and I only drink black coffee. Hence I had no need for a second boiler for steam and I thought I might save some space. It’s perfect. Pulls a great shot, time after time. Easy to use, easy to fill and to clean. Warm up time is about ten minutes and is happy to stay on all day. I’ve used it to steam milk and it’s actually pretty good! But not designed to do it very often. If you are a black coffee drinker, you really don’t need more than this.

Does what it promises

I have owned this machine for about 4 months now. I use it actively, 4-10 shots per day and it just delivers, consistently. It is paired with a Profitek T64 grinder, also from JetBlack. (+) The build quality and attention to detail is stunning. Every moving part fits precisely and there is a real feel of quality. (+) It has good steam power and the water tank is easy to reach for filling. (+) I love the fact that I can focus on the dialling in and trialling different recipes and different beans, knowing that the results always relflect what was in the basket. (+) Low power consumption, even when left on all day. Delivers consistently, shot after shot. (-) I recommend spending a few dollars on a good tamper to replace the surprisingly light-weight one that comes with the machine. (-) The pump is a little noisier than I expected, but typical for vibe pumps, I suppose. I highly recommend this machine for anyone looking for a small single boiler of the highest quality. Great value for every dollar.
